ABOUT US
ABOUT YOUR INSPECTOR:
THERE'S A REASON WHY WE'RE QUICKLY BECOMING THE BEST!
I'm Jonathon Forsythe and though Forsythe Home Inspection is a young company, I'm not new to the industry. I have had the opportunity to work in nearly all aspects of home building and remodeling. This is a great differentiation from me and other inspectors that claim to have construction experience as they generally offer knowledge in limited areas such as flooring or plumbing, and inspect all other aspects of a home with limited expertise.
While approaching 23 years of experience overall, I've been fortunate enough to learn a massive amount of skills. My Dad was a contractor most of his life and started teaching me the basics of construction during summer breaks in High School. He gave me my first job at the age of 15 and I have been continually learning about home construction since.
First skills were framing, flooring and roofing, then eventually moved on to larger skills such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. Along the way, I learned a very unique trade in structural re-stabilization. This is important, especially for older homes as soil erosion, and settling can affect a home very differently and will have varying severity based on findings. Below is a list that truly outlines the most important components of a safe and sound home
THE TRIFECTA OF A HOME'S CONDITION:
- Systems: HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical - These systems must be in working order for safety and livability.
- Attic: This determines the roofs' condition and the upper structural stability of the whole home. It also shows past evidence of issues in older homes.
- Crawlspace/Basement: This is the most important part as an issue here can leave a home in a state of disrepair.
